Wool Sock Walks on the Kalajoki Sand Dunes
Put on your wool socks and join us for a pleasant storytelling walk on the Kalajoki Sand Dunes! Our route will take us through snow-covered dunes, along the shoreline, and, if possible, on the frozen sea.
The Wool Sock Walk takes about two hours and covers a distance of approximately three kilometers. Along the way, we will share stories about Kalajoki and the sand dune area, and reflect on winter, the freezing of the sea, and marine nature.
A warm drink and some snack will be enjoyed during the walk.
Starting point: Kalajoki Sand Dunes, Tuomipakkaintie 9, in front of the Beachrosé café. Shoes can be left in your own car or the organizer’s car for the duration of the trip.
Equipment: Bring four pairs of wool socks that fit over each other. If you do not have your own wool socks, please mention this when making the reservation. If the temperature is above freezing and the snow is wet, we will do the storytelling walk with shoes on. Dress according to the weather.
