The Aurora Season Opener, 6-day photo tour around Oulu

The Aurora Season Opener is a 6-day photo tour around Oulu, Finland, which takes place in the very late summer, when the nights will be dark enough again for Lady Aurora to return. Join Thomas Kast, a multiple international award-winning photographer on this tour exploring his home turf, the region of Northern Ostrobothnia.
While we chase northern lights during late nights, we will visit various nature locations during daytime. These include river rapids, lakes and seascapes, including the island Hailuoto, which lies in the Bay of Bothnia just outside Oulu. With some luck on our side, we can also get a glimpse of the eerie noctilucent clouds (NLCs) at nightfall.
A maximum of six participants make this an intimate photo tour. Each person will have a lot of time for in-depth discussions regarding camera settings, composition and anything else. As always and everywhere, the weather is an unknown. The program and its order might change depending on the weather conditions.

NEXT TOUR AVAILABLE IN AUGUST 2026!
