Boat cruise to the island Maakalla

Relax at sea and feel the heritage of fishermen!

Kiira boat takes you to the open sea and to Maakalla island – a place with its own, self-government autonomy. The island is habited by fishermen and their families during the summer. There is no electricity nor running water. The island filled with history, e.g. the wooden church built in 18th century, and a fishermen’s museum.

The trip to Maakalla takes about 1 hour, and we have about 1,5 hours to spend on the island visiting the surroundings, birdwatching and enjoying fresh, smoked whitefish that you can buy from a local fisherman. Fish can be paid by cash only.
