Old Vaasa

A piece of old Vaasa
The old Vaasa, dating back to the 17th century, was almost entirely destroyed by a fire in 1852. The decision was subsequently made to rebuild the city in its current location, about seven kilometers from Old Vaasa. The buildings that were spared from the fire include the Wasastjerna building, now home to the Museum of Old Vaasa, and the Court of Appeal, which was turned into Korsholm Church.
