Gammelstad Chuch town, Visitor Center and guided tours - Unesco

Gammelstad Church Town outside Luleå is Swedens largest and best preserved church town with 405 cottages and the medieval Nederluleå Church. It’s also the place where the city of Luleå was founded. The cottages once built by farmers that lived far away and needed somewhere to spend the night to be able to attend the mandatory church services. UNESCO added Gammelstad church town to the World Heritage list in 1996. At the Gammelstad Visitor center there is a nice exhibition about Gammelstad’s history, a souvenir shop and information brochures to use when discovering the world heritage site. We also arrange guided tours and other activities in Gammelstad Church Town for booked groups and visitors on site.
