Holmön ferry
To get to Holmön, you take the ferry from Norrfjärden to Byviken. Travel time by car from Umeå to Norrfjärden is 30-40 minutes. The route is also served by bus route 118/171.
The ferry Capella has five departures from Norrfjärden per day during summer and four during the rest of the year. In case the ice becomes too thick during winter, the hovercraft Vintergatan is available to reach the island. The ferry ride takes 45 minutes and is completely free!
However, make sure to arrive early to park your car on the mainland.
