Luleå Archipelago Cabins - Brändöskär

Brändöskär, a rather special and very beautiful island, is situated in the outer archipelago. Perhaps because it is so exposed to the wind and weater, it has more of a genuine archipelago character than most other islands. Brändöskär consists mainly of outcrops, moraine shapened by the waves, stone and sand. The landscape is similar to that of the high fell country, with rock outcrops and mosses, heaths with low vegetation and trees bent by the wind.

Brändöskär´s fishing harbour, considered by many to be the most beautiful in the Luleå Archipelago, lies in a sheltered inlet with a public dock. The ramaining log fishing huts are characteristic of a bygone era. On the island there is an old chapel build in 1774 and an old labyrinth.
