Golf around the Gulf of Bothnian Coastal Route

Day 1: Arrival in Oulu
Arrival at Oulu airport (OUL)
Several flight connections via Helsinki and Munich are available from Europe.
Rental of electric or hybrid cars is available at Oulu airport.
A two hours drive south along the coast takes you to Kalajoki.
Accommodation Dyynikylä Apatments in Kalajoki. The stylish apartments offer spectacular views on the sea and Kalajoki’s famous sunsets can be enjoyed from your terrace. The apartments are located close to the golf court.
We recommend dinner in Sandy Kelt, where you can taste local beer, brewed in Kalajoki.
Day 2: Kalajoki
Kalajoki Golf’s 18 hole PAR73 golf course is located near the shoreline on the coast of Bothnian Bay in Finland, in the beautiful maritme resort Kalajoki Sand Dunes. The green and sandy course is surrounded by a pinewood forest with occasional glimpses of the sea.
There is a restaurant on the golf course, but maybe you would like to have an afternoon coffee, a light meal or a sundowner at Beach Rosé.

Day 3: Kokkola
Drive to Kokkola from Kalajoki takes only 45 minutes, so you will have a full day of golf in Kokkola when leaving Kalajoki in the morning.
Kokkola Golf 18 hole course located only few minutes away from town square. Front nine is surrounded by fieldy landscape with a little a bit of local history. Layout is mostly Park.
Back nine’s layout is purely Park.
Accommodation and dinner in Original Sokos Hotel Kaarle. Ask for Superior X King room as they are themed either by Tankar lighthouse or Neristan old town.
Day 4: Kokkola - Umeå
Departure to Vaasa after breakfast. The drive is app 1-1,5 hr.
13:15 Wasaline ferry takes you from Vaasa to Umeå in 4 hrs and with the time difference you arrive 15:45 in Umeå.
As Umeå Golfklubb’s golf course is located a 10 min drive from the ferry station, you can start your stay in Sweden with a round of golf.
Umeå Golfklubb offers a 27-hole golf course Here the real enthusiasts can play golf around the clock! The drive to Umeå city center is 25 minutes.

Day 4: Umeå

Umeå’s second golf course, Norrmjöle Goldklubb is a first-class 18-hole course by the sea, only 25 minutes by car from Umeå city centre. There is a restaurant by the golf course, where lunch and afternoon coffee can be enjoyed.
In Umeå we recommend to visit Bildmuseet and have a dinner at Brasserie NOR.

Day 5: Skellefteå - Piteå
Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive to Piteå from Umeå takes 2,5 hrs and we recommend a stop in Skellefteå for some local histroy and flavors.
Churchtowns are unique for norhtern Sweden and in Skellefteå you find one of these, Bonnstan. A deliscious Swedish fika or light lunch can be enjoyed in Café Lanthandeln in Bonnstan.
Piteå Golf Club features 9 and 18 hole ranges and an on site restaurant and possibiloities for other sports, such as padel.
In case you wish to have a pampering spa experience, Hotel Kust in the city center has just this. The distance between the golf court and the city is less than 10 minutes drive.
Day 6: Luleå
Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive to Luleå takes only 45 min, so you have time for golf in Piteå in the morning and in Luleå in the afternoon.
In Luleå you find the northernmost 27 hole golf course in the world. The gold course is located 20 minutes drive from the city center, so you have time for a round of golf already today!

Day 7: HaparandaTornio
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Haparanda takes 2 hrs.
In the borderzone twin cities Haparanda-Tornio you find an 18-hole golf course that ticks many once-in-a-lifetime boxes. Here you can hit the ball that lands in another country from you, you can hit the ball over a time zone and the world’s longest hole-in-one is possible on track 6.
Here you can play golf around the clock in the bright summer nights.

Day 8: HaparandaTornio
Breakfast at the hotel.
Another day of cross-country golfing awaits you.
